Intermediate 7-Week Wheel Throwing Course [MAR 26th 2026]
This 7-week intermediate wheel throwing course is designed for those who already have a solid foundation on the wheel and are ready to refine their skills and push their practice further. Students must have completed a 4-week or 6-week wheel throwing course (or equivalent experience).
Over seven weeks, you’ll focus on consistency, control, and refinement, moving beyond the basics into more advanced throwing techniques. The course emphasises improving centring efficiency, throwing taller and wider forms, refining profiles, and developing intentional shapes. You’ll also explore advanced trimming techniques, correcting common throwing issues, and making informed decisions about form and function.
All clay, tools and firing are included.
What to bring: Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy—pottery is wonderfully hands-on! An apron or towel is also recommended to help keep you (and our space) tidy.
🗓 This course runs on the following dates:
Thursdays starting Mar 26th 2026, 6pm-8:30pm.
Last session is May 7th 2026.
About the teacher:
Cat Conner has been working with clay for the last 20 years, obsessed by the unique challenges of this material. Originally from the American Southwest, she graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BFA in Visual Art (Ceramics) and immediately moved to Perth in 2009.
A master of wheel-work, she specialises in functional pottery with finesse and attention to detail. Cat has been teaching and sharing her skills for the past five years, sharing her love of clay with anyone who will listen.
